THE BORG...are back in town...
BTW... "The Borg" is probably a registered trademark of Paramount Television Studios. I'm not trying to pirate, here.
OK...Life is ugly. I have to go to NCSU orientation in the morning (6:30) *ugh*
However, I'm having an interesting ongoing discussion with an Australian pediatrician.

He's a Nihilist. And an Atheist. And I'm trying to convince him otherwise. I sorta killed Nihilism by demonstrating that by affirming Nihilism, you have irrevocably also refuted it. It just has no logic to it. Possibly, if you stated that nothing besides Nihilism existed, then you'd have a somewhat arguable point. But then I'd argue that there's no way you can affirm something that exists without the existence of an affirmer. So, therefore, you exist. Do I exist? How the heck should you know? I've only written letters, there is no true, empirical way of you finding out whether I exist or not. Even if you were to meet me on the street, would that PROVE that I exist? No. It would simply prove that the thing that wrote these letters exists.

But what is this "existence"? Existence in the respect of what we sense is the anomaly of sensory and emotional stimulation that allows us to interact with the outside world. What is the outside world? The observable actions on the senses and emotions that allows us to understand that we exist. Why do you care? Because without the outside world, there would be no stimulus, no proof of your existence. But that doesn't prove anything, you say. Nothing is ever "proven", it is simply an observed normality. "Normalness" in Nature is neither good nor bad. it simply is. But how did this near perfectly-balanced world come to be the "normal" world that we can sense? For that matter, how come the mind is able to intereact with the normal world, instead of moving its manifestation, its avatar, within it in the third person? Because it is normal for it to be so. Why? No one knows. Most (through history) think that a god/gods placed us in the plane of reality. Reality is another name for the outside world. This Reality is what is perceived as real through the senses which interact with Reality. Reality tells the senses what they are understanding at any given time.

"All Things are Possible, But not All Probable". That's my favorite saying. Although Evolution could, indeed, have happened, the chances of chopping up a table, pouring the pieces into a box, and then pouring out the reassembled table are quite slim. Thus, if a relatively simple table is affected by Entropy, how much more so would the millions of base pairs of DNA or RNA be affected? Answer that, any Evolutionist reading this, if you please...! OK!

That's the end of the second exciting post on http://tmstksbk.blogspot.com/
Thanks for reading!
